oin us for an exciting North Seera Hockey camp tailored specifically for U13 defensemen!

This clinic is designed to elevate young players’ skills, focusing on critical aspects of defensive play such as positioning, puck control, and game awareness. Over the course of  the four week camp, participants will engage in a variety of drills that emphasize skating techniques, body positioning, and effective communication with teammates.

Led by a team of experienced coaches including Jeff Hicks, Blair Dickout and Trevor Johnston; the players will receive personalized instruction and feedback.

We’ll cover essential fundamentals such as:

  • Defensive skating skills, pivots, one-foot stops, c-cuts and transferring your weight side to side while skating backwards
  • Passing and shooting – looking for open lanes, passing tape to tape or using boards to pass
  • D to D passing both offensively and defensively including hinging
  • Holding the offensive blue line with your skates and body
  • Positioning – 2 on 1 format and 1 on 1 format
  • Communication – talking with your defense partner on the ice
  • Walking the blue line. How do you change the angle of attack?
  • Taking away lines of play
  • Angling and transition play.

The U13 defense camp is available to all U13 players in North Seera with priority enrollment for the players currently registered as defensemen. If there is additional room available, the camp will be opened up to U11 North Seera and Seera players.

The cost to participate is $60 for the four sessions. The clinic is on Wednesday’s at 4:15 at Donnan Arena. The defense camp runs November 20, November 27, December 4 and December 11 and is limited to 20 participants.
