U13 Advanced Development Stream
North SEERA U13 Advanced Development Program (2025-26)
The 2025-26 season brings some unforeseen changes to the U13 hockey landscape in our area. While this shift was not part of our original plans, North SEERA is committed to building a strong, sustainable program for our players and families.
This advanced program is specific to our NS501 team, which represents the highest level of U13 hockey within North SEERA. Our focus is to create an environment that supports long-term success, on and off the ice. Whether a player’s hockey journey continues here in North SEERA or leads to other opportunities in the future, our role is to give them the skills, confidence, and passion they need to grow and thrive.
Our Commitment to Development
North SEERA is dedicated to ensuring our coaches and players have the resources they need to succeed:
- Coaching support: Every coach receives a subscription to IceHockeySystems.com for drills, practice plans, and development tools.
- Coach vetting: All head coaches will be vetted for prior experience and required certifications to ensure a high-quality training environment.
- Partnership with Perfect Skating: Weekly development sessions with Perfect Skating focused on skating and skills.
- Goaltender development: Additional opportunities for goalies to train with third-party developers for targeted instruction.
- Relationship with MLAC: Continued partnership with the Maple Leaf Athletic Club to create development and affiliation opportunities, giving players exposure to higher levels of hockey.
Built-In Extras for NS501
- One additional weekly team practice.
- One weekly Perfect Skating development session.
- Integrated dryland training throughout the season.
- A minimum of two tournaments, with potential for more depending on team goals.
Evaluations
U13 evaluations are beginning. Families can review all possible skate times here:
Evaluations are conducted by Sports Evaluations to ensure a fair, independent, and transparent process. Players identified for the NS501 roster may remain at this advanced level or opt to play in the traditional community stream.
Fees
- Base Fee: $795 (paid at registration).
- Additional Development Fee: $700 per player (payment plans available) - includes the extra weekly practice and weekly Perfect Skating session.
- Team Seed Money: Approximately $300 cash call, set by the team to cover extras beyond what is included (for example, additional tournaments, exhibition games, and travel expenses).
Families will have opportunities to offset costs through fundraising and sponsorships.
Looking Ahead
This season marks the start of a new era for North SEERA Hockey. While the circumstances that brought us here were unexpected, our vision is clear: develop our players, support our coaches, and create a program that helps every athlete build a strong foundation for the future, whether their journey continues here in North SEERA or beyond.
