U9 Power Skating

Our U9 Power Skating program is designed to help young players improve their speed, balance, agility, and edge control. These sessions focus exclusively on skating fundamentals, giving players the strong foundation they need to excel in all other aspects of hockey. Skaters will be challenged through a variety of high-tempo drills that emphasize proper technique and efficiency.

Sessions are led by Competitive Thread, a trusted development group known for building strong, confident skaters through high-quality, engaging instruction.

• Program Length: 18 sessions
• Schedule: Thursdays from 6:45 – 7:45 PM
• Location: Michael Cameron Arena
• Start Date: October 2, 2025
• Holiday Breaks:
  • No sessions from December 19, 2025 – January 7, 2026
  • No sessions on January 15, 2026
• End Date: February 19, 2026
• Maximum Participants: 24 skaters
• Focus Areas:
  • Explosive starts and stops
  • Forward and backward edge work
  • Crossovers and transition techniques
  • Balance, agility, and stride power
