NORTH SEERA HOCKEY BINGO
2009 North SEERA assigned Bingos
NORTH SEERA Bingo Team Worker Form
North SEERA Hockey Club operates a bingo program. Bingo profits generated from volunteer efforts are used to reduce the cost of registration and hockey related expenses, not only for your child or children, but for all players in the North SEERA Club.
The team bingos run from October to March. Each team is only allotted one bingo date. Please press the "Bingo Team Assignments Schedule" link for the dates.
North SEERA Hockey Club does not expect every family to work a bingo for each child they have registered but only asks that each team supply a predetermined number of volunteers from their team to work their one bingo date.
There are different forms for different bingos and the highest number of volunteers required ever, is only 6, from any given team. The average number of players on the teams, from Atom to Bantam, is 15, therefore, it should not be difficult to find 6 people. Initiation does not do bingos and pre-novice teams are only required to supply 4 volunteers for their bingo, as their player numbers are lower.
The bingo forms with the dates, are sent out to the coaches at the very beginning of the season, once the teams have been set. The coach or manager usually assigns someone to fill out the form with the names, phone #'s and what experience these people have (i.e. Bingo office). Bingo workers should be clear about what their shift is and come prepared to represent North SEERA at the bingo with a good work ethic and attitude.
Please refer to the link, "Job Description of an usher" in order to be well prepared. North SEERA supplies the bingo workers with a scheduled 1/2 hour break and pays for their meal during this break.
We are required to have a minimum amount of workers at each bingo and when workers do not show up they are not counted towards our requirement and our association is fined. Each fine has consequences of not only money but, can eventually have North SEERA lose further bingo dates or suspensions and, eventually, our association with Parkway Bingo eliminated altogether. Workers that do not show up also puts unnecessary responsibility onto others, not only the people who had to change their plans to come in to cover for them but the workers already at the bingo having to make up for their lack of work.
Your team has many other volunteer jobs i.e. Manager, uniforms, time- keepers etc. Every family should be doing something to help on the team. Please get involved and do your part.
These bingos are a requirement of your team and failure to supply your teams required amount of workers will result in a $150.00 fine to your team. We do not want to do this but if we have to supply someone in your place then we end up paying them volunteer points because we have to have our required amount of people at the bingo.
Parkway Policies state that disciplinary action can be taken against our organization. These include: Fined $150.00 for each worker short plus lose our next bingo event, or, fined $150.00 for each worker short PLUS immediate suspension for one year.
North SEERA is proud to be able to offer their members a chance to earn volunteer points by working bingos during the off-season months, April to September, inclusive, which they can use towards registration fees, North SEERA Hockey school or team seed money.
The allotted payment for the shifts are: 60 volunteer points for a: 4:45pm to 10pm shift (Evening bingo) or 10:45am to 4pm shift(Afternoon bingo) and 85 volunteer points for a: 4:45pm to midnight shift (Evening/Latenight bingo).
